To Bring: Participants are asked to bring hardcopies (not digital) of three images, each of which represents a person, place, and thing meaningful to them. These 3 images will provide sparks for some of the day’s writing activities. Please also bring a writing log/journal/paper, pens, markers, and highlighters for the day’s events.

In this day-long workshop, we will explore story telling through a series of guided, generative writing activities to develop storytelling forms and elements. The workshop will include time for discussion, reflection and, if participants wish, the sharing of excerpts from the writing done during the day.

In terms of storytelling tools and elements, activities will focus on voice and point of view; time lines/frames for story making; desire lines; audience; and detailing that can actualize flesh and fact within story.
