Emerging Writers Session—Introduction to Creative Writing

Do you like to write? Feel a need to express yourself more clearly? Or want to get it down before you forget? Find encouragement, fun, and inspiration in this class. You do not need to be published in order to attend. Learn how to use language more effectively, speak your strongest beliefs, and access your writer’s voice. Sessions will include: writing exercises, challenging discussions, imagination-openers, group feedback, and tips on motivation.

Date: June 4, 2022

Time: 10am-4pm

Location: 100 Arthur Street (4th Floor Board Room)

Participants:  12 (maximum)

Cost: Free

Registration: Please send us your full contact info, a brief bio, letting us know who you are, where you are at in your writing journey and what you are hoping to get out of the class to workshops@prairiefire.ca. This class is geared towards emerging writers. Successful applicants will be notified on or before May 25th.

Donna Besel loves writing of all kinds, and does presentations for schools, libraries, universities, conferences, and retreats. Her work has gained recognition from CBC Literary Awards and won national contests. The forests of Eastern Manitoba, where she has always lived, provide endless ideas and settings for her “boreal stories.”
