Workshops

THE ONE-HOUR MAGAZINE

Have you ever wondered how a magazine gets put together? What’s involved? This fast-paced, one-hour, hands-on, fun workshop uses audience participation to create a magazine business plan from beginning to end. Appropriate for ages 13 and up, this workshop can be delivered at the location of your choice, or in the boardroom of Artspace next to the Prairie Fire Press office. Because it relies on audience participation groups of 8 or more are preferred. For information on availability and cost, please contact Janine Tschuncky.

GET READY FOR PUBLICATION

Ever wondered what’s involved in submitting your work for publication? How to create a cover letter? How to prepare your manuscript? This one-hour, informative presentation will answer all your questions about what’s needed to create a good submission, and provide you with “ten tips” to getting published and a list of community resources available to writers. This presentation is appropriate for beginning writers ages 13 and up. It can be delivered at a location of your choice or in the boardroom of Artspace, next to the Prairie Fire Press office. For information on availability and cost, please contact Janine Tschuncky.

* Both of these workshops are available outside of Winnipeg, although we require travel costs to be covered.
