The fall issue (34.3) will feature writing by, about, and in tribute to Birk Sproxton. The author and editor of 8 books, Sproxton was born in Flin Flon and made the North and the three western prairie provinces the focus of his acclaimed creative and critical work until his death in 2007. New work by Kimmy Beach, Dennis Cooley and Joan Crate pay tribute to his life and career, and critical assessments are presented by Alison Calder, Sue Matheson and Christian Riegel. Five new works by Sproxton will appear in print for the first time.
